PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS
C. Zachary Meyers, CPA, CVA holds multiple influential roles on national and international standard setting bodies, where he has made significant contributions to the financial disciplines at the highest levels of the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts (NACVA), Global Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts (GACVA), and The Appraisal Foundation (TAF).
NACVA & GACVA
 Since 2016, Mr. Meyers has been a voting member of the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts (NACVA) Standards Board. The Standards Board is the standard-setting body charged with creating and promulgating NACVA & GACVA's Professional Standards in the United States and internationally. C. Zachary Meyers, CPA, CVA was elected to the NACVA Standards Board via membership-wide election in 2016, appointed Vice-Chair in 2017, elected Chair in 2018, and in 2019 was re-elected as Chair to the NACVA Standards Board. In 2020, Mr. Meyers was appointed the NACVA Standards Board’s United States Representative to the Global Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts (GACVA) Advisory Council, which liaises with NACVA’s international chapters in Africa, Canada, Europe, India, Taiwan, the Mediterranean, and Southeast Asia.
THE APPRAISAL FOUNDATION
 
C. Zachary Meyers, CPA, CVA was elected to the Business Valuation Resource Panel (BVRP) of The Appraisal Foundation (TAF) in 2021 and elected vice chair of the BVRP in 2022. The BVRP is a panel of the nation’s leading business valuation experts, professionals, and academics appointed to provide specialized expertise to TAF Board of Trustees, the Appraisal Standards Board (ASB), and the Appraiser Qualifications Board. In 2023, Mr. Meyers was appointed to the Business Valuation Task Force (BVTF) to review the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) and Advisory Opinions that impact business and intangible asset appraisal standards. Effective January 1, 2024, Mr. Meyers was appointed to a two-year term on the Appraisal Standards Board (ASB). Under the provisions of Title XI of the Financial Institutions Reform, Recovery and Enforcement Act of 1989 (FIRREA), the Appraisal Standards Board (ASB) is responsible for writing, amending, and interpreting the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP), which are the congressionally authorized generally accepted standards that govern the appraisal profession in the United States.

 
VALUATION BRIEF 2023-1: Understanding the Differences: Conclusion of Value v. Value Calculations
C. Zachary Meyers, CPA, CVA made substantial contributions to VALUATION BRIEF 2023-1, the first in a series of valuation briefs, developed under the leadership of the Business Valuation Resource Panel (BVRP). In VALUATION BRIEF 2023-1, the authors seek to provide clarity regarding the differences among each assignment’s scope of work and the various forms of reports available to meet the requirements specific to a given valuation. VALUATION BRIEF 2023-1 summarizes the relevant business valuation standards provided by the appraisal standard setting and credentialing organizations and provide practical suggestions for valuation professionals and their clients on best practices. The Art of Valuation: Reflections, Stories, and Strategies from Business Appraisal, 2023, The Appraisal Foundation
C. Zachary Meyers, CPA, CVA was acknowledged as both a member of The Appraisal Foundation’s Book Committee of the Business Valuation Resource Panel and one of twenty-nine esteemed experts contributing to The Art of Valuation: Reflections, Stories, and Strategies from Business Appraisal. This collection of essays published by The Appraisal Foundation delves into the industry disciplines of business appraisal and financial expert witnessing.  
NACVA Standards and Ethics FAQ Library
C. Zachary Meyers, CPA, CVA made substantial contributions to the NACVA Frequently Asked Questions while on the NACVA Standards Board. The NACVA Standards Board has the responsibility to provide interpretation of the Standards published in a document entitled, “Frequently Asked Questions” (FAQs). The areas of practice that require clarification or standard interpretation are addressed within the NACVA “Standards and Ethics FAQ library” which consists of interpretations and supplemental guidance published by the NACVA Standards Board. The Standards and Ethics FAQ library guidance is bifurcated into the categories of (1) non-litigation or (2) litigation, containing generalized guidance in the form of frequently asked questions. Each FAQ consists of a question, an answer, and a standards-based interpretation which directly cites the NACVA Professional Standard(s) utilized to arrive at the answer provided.
